Woman Reveals How Husband Gave Her HIV on their Wedding Night

A woman has told how she contacted HIV after sleeping with her husband for the first time on their wedding night.
Incredibly, the woman carried the virus for eight years without knowing.
She even gave birth to the couple’s child while being infected but her husband continued to stay quiet.
The unidentified mum told Mamamia of the nightmare moment she realised her husband had been playing ‘Russian roulette’ with her and their baby.
The woman, who is believed to be Australian, was a single mother in her 30s when she met and fell in love with her husband.
They soon married and held-off from having sex until the night of their wedding.
However, after becoming pregnant she said the relationship fell apart as the husband became controlling and violent.

But it wasn’t until eight years after they split that the woman suspected something was seriously wrong.

She began losing weight, her hair started falling out and her nails became infected.

‘I didn’t realise just how sick I was. I’d been living with HIV for nine years,’ she told Mamamia.

Miraculously her young child had not contracted the virus, even though she had breastfed him as an infant.

When she confronted her ex-partner about his reckless behaviour he simply hung up the phone and the pair have not spoken since.

‘Furious, I said, ”Do you realise what you’ve done? You played Russian Roulette. You put me at risk and our child. You fired two bullets, you got one hit,” she told Mamamia.

Five years after being told she has HIV the woman says she is determined to live life as normally as possible.

Despite struggling with her health she says she is determined to see her grandchildren grow up.

She said: ‘No one knows how long they’re going to live for. I live each day with purpose. I’m grateful for every day I’m well and with my children.’

NIGERIA: BILL SEEKING TO MAKE SHARIA A FEDERAL LAW QUIETLY PASSES 2ND READING

I was shocked to watch the live proceedings of the House of Representatives as covered by NTA2 and saw that the bill calling for the criminal aspects of Islamic Sharia law to be implemented in our legal system in Nigeria at the Federal and states passed the second reading on Thursday, October 28, 2016.
I was even more shocked because even though there were many Christians in the House no one raised an objection!
The Speaker of the House, Hon Yakubu Dogara, who presided over the proceedings said that what this meant was that it would now move to committee level where it will be discussed fully before the House would decide on it finally, but it is curious that not even one voice of dissent was aired against it!
I waited till 9pm to hear what NTA Network news would report about it, but there was a blackout of reportage about it!
Of course, other issues discussed and decided in the House on same day were reported but not this one! The bill to amend the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to make provision for the full implementation of Sharia Criminal law at the federal and states legal system has passed the second reading in the House of Representatives and no one is telling Nigerians what is happening!
For all we know, when a bill passes the second reading unchallenged in parliament it is almost as good as passed.
Long before the 2nd Republic, Muslim leaders in Nigeria have always agitated for the full implementation of Sharia in Nigeria. Nobody has forgotten the hot debates that took place in the Constituent Assembly of 1978 about the place of Sharia in the 1979 Constitution.
Christian members kicked against the full implementation of full Sharia because non-Muslims would fall victim of this law. In the end, a compromise was reached that the Sharia Personal Law be allowed, not the criminal aspects.
The same thing that happened in 1988 Constituent Assembly that produced the 1989 Constitution, which never took off. In fact, in the 1988 Constituent Assembly, General Ibrahim Babangida, then Nigeria’s self-styled military president, had to stop all debates relating to Sharia and other sensitive issues when he saw how inflammable the debates were becoming, and retained the status quo.

The 1999 Constitution drew much from both the 1979 and 1989 Constitutions and retained Sharia Personal law.
Now, Muslims, under President Muhammadu Buhari have surreptitiously attempted to amend the Constitution to insert the full implementation of Sharia without carrying Nigerians along!
Muslim leaders have always argued that Sharia law is meant for Muslims only. But Christians have always refused to buy the argument because in practice, non-Muslims have often been dragged before Shariacourts and have been adjudicated by a legal system repugnant to their faith. Several documented cases abound to prove this.
Besides, Christians have always argued why the government that is supposed to be neutral to all religions should uphold the religious laws of one religion with public funds to the harm of the adherents of other faiths.
These are some of the issues that make some of us to take with a pinch of salt the claims that President Buhari means well for this country. Our job is to bring these issues to the fore to create awareness of what is happening. Whatever happens afterwards is beyond our power. It’s up to you all.
Broadcast this information and please take all steps available to you to let this be known in higher hierarchy of the church, the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN.
We must not be docile!

Iran Foreign Minister Scorns Trump after KSA Speech, arms deal

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Sunday criticised U.S. President Donald Trump for sealing an arms deal and other investments worth hundreds of billions of dollars with Saudi Arabia, Tehran's arch-rival in the Middle East.

Zarif's comments came hours after Trump, who is visiting Saudi Arabia, urged Arab and Islamic leaders to unite and defeat Islamist extremists. Trump singled out Iran as a key sponsor of militant groups, sending a tough message to Tehran the day after Hassan Rouhani won a second term as Iran's president.
"Iran - fresh from real elections - attacked by @POTUS in that bastion of democracy & moderation. Foreign Policy or simply milking KSA of $480B?," Zarif wrote in a Twitter post, referring to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Iran and Saudi Arabia have long accused each other of sponsoring militias aligned to their competing sects of Islam in conflicts across the Middle East.
Introducing Trump, Saudi King Salman described Tehran as a mutual foe and a source of terrorism they must confront together.
In his first keynote speech abroad, Trump sought to redefine his relationship with the Muslim world, and focused on his desire to curb Iran's influence in the region.
"For decades, Iran has fueled the fires of sectarian conflict and terror," he said.

Assault victim begs Edo monarch - The Onojie of Uromi for forgiveness

The woman who was reportedly assaulted by the Onojie of Uromi in Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State, Mrs. Betty Okoebor, on Sunday begged the monarch for forgiveness.
The traditional ruler and Ojuromi of Uromi, His Royal Highness, Anslem Aidenojie II, had been suspended for seven days by the state executive council for allegedly attacking the woman and causing her “bodily harm,” among other alleged offences.
But the victim, Okoebor, who knelt before the monarch at his residence in Benin, in the presence of some Uromi elders, said that her plea became necessary as it was not customary for a traditional ruler to seek forgiveness from his subjects.
The woman, who was accompanied by some of her relatives, noted that she was not coerced into taking the decision, which she said was based on the fact the Ojuromi remained her father.
“I have offended my father and have come to him for forgiveness. He has forgiven me and also prayed for me,” Okoebor added.
In his reaction, the Ojuromi of Uromi said that the woman had a “little disagreement” with the palace and for which she apologised.
Aidenojie II said, “Betty is my daughter; she had little disagreement with the palace and she has come to apologise.
“As a father, I have forgiven her and have also prayed for her to have good health, prosperity and success in every aspect of her endeavour.”

"Lie of the Year "- 200,000 Unemployed Nigerian Graduates to get Jobs before end of October 2016 - Pastor Osinbajo

Implementation plans for the effective commencement of a number of the social investment programmes of the Buhari presidency has reached advanced stages as the selection of the first 200,000 unemployed graduates to get jobs is now being completed.
Speaking with a small group of radio journalists and producers at the Presidential Villa, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo disclosed that “we expect that before the end of the month, we will engage 200,000,” out of the 500,000 unemployed graduates the Buhari administration plans to hire in the N-Power jobs programme.
According to him, the direct government jobs is meant “to keep this young people occupied, pay them some amount of money and also give them a device, which will also help them to learn several skills that they can develop as time goes on.”
Prof. Osinbajo added that “we expect that before the end of this month, we should have engaged 200,000 of them and we are hoping that before the end of the year we should have engaged more.”
Similarly, Mr. Osinbajo disclosed that the Home-Grown School Feeding programme is set to kick off in several states this month.
“Definitely before the end of this month, we expect that several states would have come on stream with their Home-grown School Feeding Programmes,” the Vice President noted.
He added that the Home-Grown School Feeding programme “will energise agriculture in the different states because it is what you plant that you feed the children with, we will be hiring caterers, cooks, etc in each state because it will be Federal Government funded from Primaries 1-3 and the state governments hopefully would be able to cater for the other classes.”
According to the Vice President, the Home-Grown School Feeding programme is another section of the Social Investment programmes that impact directly on the lives of Nigerian children and families. He said several states will start implementing the Home-grown School Feeding Programme before the end of October.
Equally he stated that the Micro-Credit scheme for which the Buhari administration will give very low-cost loans to more than one million Nigerian artisans, traders, market women and other ranging from N60,000 to N100,000 would also be kicking off this month.
According to him, “for women across the country, we are giving loans, micro credit loans to about 1.5 million women. We are focusing on market women and artisans, loans between N60,000 and 100,000 each. We are working through the Bank of Industry, BOI. They are going to be giving out these loans, we‘ve already identified the banks and everybody who is involved in this. We should be flagging-off hopefully before the end of this month”
Such soft loans to the artisans, traders and market women, according to him, is meant “to boost their businesses.”
The Vice President reassured Nigerians that the current Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari is well focused on ameliorating the plight of the citizens of the country, observing that the administration feels the pains of the citizens and is committed to assuaging them.
“We fully understand and appreciate the situation of things in the country and we are committed to ensuring that that pain is assuaged. The President stated that clearly in his October 1st broadcast to the nation. All his life, he has been a salary earner, he has never been a businessman, so he understands why someone who earns a salary and even those who do not, are severely challenged at this time of economic recession such as we are experiencing,” he said.
On the economy, Vice President Osinbajo said government is committed to developing it, to enable citizens find opportunities within the country.
“I want to assure Nigerians that the government of President Buhari is a very focused and determined government. We are committed to ensuring that we are able to develop the Nigerian economy in such a way that Nigerians are able to find opportunities in their own country,” he said.
He listed the ‘Made in Nigeria’ project, moving away from import dependence, boosting agriculture, and encouraging manufacturing as some of the urgent actions being pursued by government in order to move the country forward.
The Vice President also emphasized the Buhari administration’s zero tolerance for corruption, as corruption is “the major drain on the country’s resources.” He added that “no one would be spared in the fight against corruption because, even the close friends of the President know that they will not be spared, he will not cover for them. Fighting corruption is a priority.”
On the current recession, the Vice President said the fall in oil prices and pipeline vandalism were the immediate causes of the recession, thus reducing drastically, the country’s revenue. But he assured that government will adequately manage the little being realised now.
“We were producing up to 2.2 million barrels a day but all of a sudden, the vandalization of our terminals caused us to lose up to a million barrels a day.
“So when you lose up to 60 per cent of your revenue or even more, there must be a shock because you are really earning very little and we will ensure that that very little that we are earning is as well managed as possible,” he said.

Breaking News! $2.2b Arms Deals: Dasuki to call Former President, Goodluck Jonathan as witness

x-NSA prefers political solution
Former National Security Adviser (NSA) Sambo Dasuki, who is on trial for alleged mismanagement of $2.1billion arms funds, would like former President Goodluck Jonathan to be his witness, it was learnt yesterday.
Dr. Jonathan has faulted the charges against Dasuki, claiming that the ex-NSA could not have stolen about $2.2billion votes for arms. “We bought warships, we bought aircraft, we bought lots of weapons for the army,” he said in a recent interview at the Oxford Union in the United Kingdom.
Speaking with our correspondent, Mr. Ahmed Raji (SAN), the ex-NSA’s counsel, said Dasuki wanted Jonathan to testify in court.
Raji said: “It will be desirable for Jonathan to testify for the ex-NSA. It will throw greater light into grey areas. And it will serve the interest of Justice.
“It will be fantastic for him to go to court to testify. Dasuki is an agent of a disclosed and known principal.”
Another member of the legal team said: “With what Jonathan said in London, the only logical thing for him to do is to see it through.
“We want Jonathan to follow-through. If he backs out, it will be bad.”
But, in Raji’s view, a political solution will be better than trial because of the “characters involved”.
He said: “But, frankly speaking, I pray for a political solution to the problem because of the characters involved.
“Both the accused and the government should embrace a political solution to the problem.”
Asked if Dasuki is ready for political solution, he added: “Why not? He is.
”I believe the President is very sincere. He wants to reorganise Nigeria and he deserves the support of all.
“With a political solution, Mr. President will be in good stead to overcome unnecessary distractions in order to succeed.
“I pray that everybody will key into his vision and the economic challenges facing the nation.”
Those point of advising a political solution is that it will not be “tidy” for Dasuki to mention all those who got money from his office. Among them, said a source, are a prominent traditional ruler in the North, who reportedly got N500 million and a former Head of State.
A source, who spoke in confidence, said Dasuki’s defence team was banking on Jonathan’s testimony.
The source said: “All is set for the defence of Dasuki, who is still insisting on an open trial to let Nigerians know the beneficiaries of the arms cash.
“One of those who may testify is ex-President Goodluck Jonathan whose remarks in London appeared to be the first phase of the war chest of the ex-NSA.
“You know the ex-NSA said he acted on Jonathan’s instructions in disbursing some of the cash. And from the look of things, the ex-President is now ready to accept responsibility for whatever Dasuki did.
“We believe it has reached a level that Nigerians must know what really happened, how funds were disbursed and who got what.
“This is why a secret trial is not a viable option, with the way things are going.”
The source added: “So far, we have secured the consent of Jonathan to appear in court for Dasuki. This will make the trial worth it.”
It was learnt that a traditional ruler allegedly benefitted from the arms funds to the tune of about N500million.
Another source added: “Dasuki has a list of highly-placed beneficiaries from the arms cash. A particular traditional ruler got about N500million as a gift from the government through the Office of the National Security Adviser(ONSA). There are many hidden beneficiaries whom Nigerians must know.
“Nigerians will be shocked by some revelations which will come up during the trial. Nothing short of open trial will let Nigerians know the truth. We are ready for this.”
Dasuki had on December 13, 2015 said he disbursed the funds on Jonathan’s instructions.
The ex-NSA said: “I wish to state as follows: That I have been publicly indicted and any statement may jeopardise my defence. Having been briefed by the EFCC investigators on why I was invited, I will answer the charges in court. As such, I do not wish to make any further statement on the matter.
“That I am aware in November (I cannot remember the exact date), my office requested the CBN to exchange N10billion from the account of the Office of National Security Adviser domiciled in CBN. The money was exchanged at $47m and some Euros which I cannot remember. The exact amount was delivered at my residence.
“The money was for delegates that attended the nomination convention for the PDP. Presidential nomination. The money was paid and sent to Hon. (Waripamowei) Dudafa (SSAP Household) and ADC(C-I-C) for distribution on the instruction of the President.
“Based on the statement of Director of Finance and Administration (Salisu), Ibrahim Wambai, and Yazidu Ibrahim, all the cash (both foreign and local) are usually given to them for official use.
“I also noted the statement of Sagir Bafarawa whose company is Dalhatu Investment in which he stated that he received the sum of N4,633,000,000 from the account of the Office of the NSA. I authorised the payment . The money was for vehicles, motorcycles for youth empowerment and women sent to Saudi Arabia. I got the proposal from the President. I do not have the proposal; it should be at the office in the Villa.”

APC Crisis: Plot to Unseat Odigie-Oyegun thickens as ‘forces’ want him named ambassador

The subterranean plots to remove the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun is reportedly gaining some traction, with the forces working towards his removal angling to get the president to name him an ambassador.
Past efforts to ease him out of the party through such appointments had failed as Chief Oyegun himself is said not to be well-disposed to such appointments. Some party insiders accused the Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF, Babachir Lawal of working in cahoot with the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu camp to remove the chairman.

National Chairman APC, Chief Odigie Oyegun briefing State House Correspondents after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja. Photo by Abayomi Adesida However, the SGF has denied the allegation, saying such appointments are the prerogative of the president.

In a text message to Sunday Vanguard, Lawal said; “I do not know anything about the chairman’s ambassadorial as such are made by the president. Did you see his name on the list read out on the floor of the Senate?”, he queried. Sunday Vanguard learnt that the plot by the contending camps to remove Odigie-Oyegun as the party’s National Chairman before the completion of his four-year term guaranteed by the APC Constitution is a veiled attempt to hijack the APC political machinery in the leadup to the 2019 general elections.

BOMBSHELL: There is hardship in the Country – Aisha Buhari Speaks Again

Wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, came back quietly from her foreign trips a while ago.
Since her return, Aisha has commenced work in her charity organization.
Aisha and her committee members on humanitarian crisis, kick started the distribution of relief items to Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, in Bornu State.
Their target site is in Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.
The relief items were nutritional food collected from her ‘Get Involved initiative, under her Future Assured program.
Her organization collects and collates relief material from individuals, agencies, parastatals, friends, associates and organizations.
The materials are donated in cash or kind. Thereafter, she redistributes the gifts to victims of Boko Haram insurgency.
Flagging off the distribution of the relief items, which is the pilot scheme in Beneshiekh town of Kaga, Mrs. Buhari said 350 households would benefit from the relief materials.

She guaranteed that all the communities affected by insurgency in the North-East would also benefit from the Get Involved gesture.
According to Aisha, “We are doing this to cushion the hardship of our traumatized victims of Boko Haram.
“Aside from this, the current economic hardship complicates the plight of those already affected by violence across the country.
“Not just BH, but with people affected by other related violence that have hitherto affected some parts of this country.
“Now that peace had been restored by our gallant troops and our IDPs have also returned home, we deemed it fit to assist our people with nutritional food items.
“I believe this gesture will be extended to all parts of this country affected by violence.
“This will encourage those still living in camps to go back to their liberated communities,” Aisha Buhari said.
